The First Hindi Writing Book a Child Picks Up

Most Hindi writing books start with अ on page one. Akshar Rachna Part क does not. A child of three is still learning how to hold a pencil, stop a line where it should stop, and turn a curve without lifting the hand. So the book opens with pre-writing strokes: standing lines, sleeping lines and the curved shapes that later become parts of Devanagari letters. When the child has these strokes under control, the book moves through all 13 Hindi swar: अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ऋ, ए, ऐ, ओ, औ, अं and अः.

Write it alone: the rows then fade to a single starting dot, so the child writes the letter without support.

Regular अभ्यास (revision) pages bring the letters learned so far together, for example अ and आ side by side, then अ, आ, इ and ई. This helps children tell similar letters apart. Every page also has a दिनांक (date) line, so teachers and parents can track daily progress.
